You might know a Marilyn. I was lucky to have one born into my family.

She’s in Montana today hanging out with her brothers and families, enjoying Life.

So Marilyn don’t stress about turning 64.

But if you do,

And always remember, I am there for you!

Happy Birthday!

Who is much older than you!

The Family Reunion

It’s that time again to get together in Montana at the Homestead!

It all coincides with Marilyn’s 64th Birthday this year, on August 19th.

I hope everyone takes lots of pictures, cause I’m not there boo Hoo!

Instead we are staying behind because of a reno. Yes, a reno.

So whoop it up guys!

For SURE, I’ll be there next year!

Didier Lourenco is fast becoming a favourite artist of mine. I hope to be able to purchase one of his pieces. They make me Happy and they tell a story.

See this one: At least three generations of family can relate I’m sure.

My Mother always liked the girls on bikes, and well, I love the girl with a cat.

I love the sleeping girl.

I’m into the shape of the face, particularly the nose. Quite the characters!

This young man began working in his fathers studio at an early age. He is self taught and lives in Barcelona, Spain. Now his success has brought him to International markets. Apparently one can purchase prints, even posters of his work . I’m looking into this as our condo is on the verge of completion. Why not have a Didier of my own? The Question would be “Which one”??

I think I will dream on it tonight. Surely by morning there will be an answer.

Little Girls

I remember way back Jim and Ann travelling with Their daughters Karen and Jennifer and of course their cocker spaniel Bailey

In those days they had a van which housed not only the family and dog but also tons and tons of luggage.

I was always amazed at what came out of that vehicle.

So a thought struck me when I saw pictures tonight of their daughters, now married with THEIR little girls and outfits and baby stuff galore.

Now I know why the grandparents traded in the car for yet another van or SUV with a luggage rack behind it. I can just imagine it all, with delight I might add, as the families grow travelling with their kiddies from California and Alberta.

Can you imagine the fun they are having?

It’s a darn good thing they renovated the kitchen and finished their basement into a popular Air B&B.

What’s most important to me is that in my mind I can also hear the laughter. Maybe some tears and maybe the sweet smell of diapers.

And maybe some summer ice cream cones for the girls, my absolute favourite treat while in Vancouver

I’m so happy to see these pictures

Summer is the best time, isn’t it?

The Long Summer

It’s a long story but for those who have been following our saga you know our pain.

We moved from the condo on May 24th for what was supposed to be a one month Reno. Two months have slipped by and the place is slowly (emphasis on word) coming together.

We have been blessed to be able to stay at Junior Sawhney’s, but we are overstaying our welcome. Perhaps we could camp out somewhere

Do you know of any place?

We are blessed. There are no two ways about it.

Meanwhile we will continue to be cranky sometimes,

But at the end of the day we always try to see the silver lining. Sometimes it’s just the little things which make us smile

Family, that’s what counts!

The 70’s Road Trip

I’m thinking again. An urge to change things up is stirring an incredible love of colours.

I refer to my first Love, the Blue Volkswagen Beetle.

I’m sure my siblings remember those days back in the 60’s.

Well, I’ve got the bug again. I kid you not.

And I’m thinking either roadster or convertible or a bit of both. I thought about it, concluding that this could be Jackson’s first car. I can just see him riding around with his brother Henry, and their cronies.

Or maybe (with his luggage on the back ) heading off to soccer. You know they go up north every year to THE Boys Cottage.

But hey, I’ve finally decided a roadster with two seats would not be practical for us now. Where would we fit the yearly visitors, the grandkids, or our luggage?

So I’m being practical here. All I have to decide is which colour. Apparently there’s every colour under the rainbow.

Really. You can get them in pink, red, yellow, striped, polka dot, the sky is the limit

So im going to go for a test drive. And I’ll look over the colours available. I told the boys I’d get a red sports car when I lost 50 lbs. I’m 20 lbs shy, but it’s headed in the right direction
